The Web Files Pounds the L.A. Web Series Beat

Editor's review by Liz Shannon Miller, November 20, 2009

Today, NewTeeVee gets to do something we don’t normally get to do — review the competition. OK, technically The Web Files isn’t competition for us — we’re just covering the same beat using different mediums. In this web series about the making of web series, Files host Kristyn Burtt interviews various players in the online video space every week about the trials and tribulations of creating content for the Internet.

While the opening sequence — shot film noir-style, with Burtt playing the role of detective — seems to imply investigative journalism, Burtt’s focus is on personalities and content, with minimal scoops in sight. The interview with MERRIme.com creators Kaily Smith and David Weidoff, for example, focuses more on their experiences at the NYTVF (where Smith won the best actress award) than on questions like how they were able to secure name cast members like Tony Hale and Tom Arnold, not to mention their $2,500-per-episode financing, though they do make an interesting point about the value of hiring a publicist.

But while the news component may be lacking, Burtt is still a capable host whose years of entertainment reporting make her very comfortable on camera — previously, she’d done hosting work with MSNBC and NBC, among other entities. And her approach isn’t always just a sit-down-and-chat one; when she interviewed the creators of Coma, Period, for example, she combined conversations with supporting crew members with a tour of the production company’s office.

In fact, probably the strongest aspect of The Web Files is that Burtt and director/producer Sandra Payne are constantly changing the format and location of the interviews in an effort to mirror the show being talked about. Examples include speaking with Cabonauts creator Hayden Black inside one of the futuristic cabs from the series (complete with outer space greenscreening) or hanging out with porn star Demi Delia at her house to discuss Mommy XXX.

The choice of subjects so far is pretty limited to the L.A. web series scene (at least 10 of the people who have appeared on Web Files, in fact, are Tubefilter meetup regulars), but so far there’s been enough variation within that community to keep the series from feeling stale. (A major recent get for them: an interview with the executives at Fox TV’s 15 Gigs studios.)

The only problem is that it’s a bit hard to gauge who the exact audience is for Web Files. The aspiring creator looking for tips on breaking into the space? Those already engaged with the web community? Whatever the answer might be, the fact that Files is taking this medium and those working in it seriously is just another step in the web series world attaining greater credibility. So I’m a fan — unless, of course, they scoop us. (Just kidding.) (Not really.)

Behind the Scenes of Mommy XXX

Posted by Kristyn Burtt at 10:51 AM

When I originally contacted the Sony PR department looking to interview Demi Delia from Crackle.com's Mommy XXX, I wanted to find out more about the woman behind the fun, Osbourne-like reality show. I thought it was interesting look at working mom's life, raising two kids, and oh, by the way, she works in the adult industry. Once we got approval for the interview and all of the details were worked out, we headed to Demi's compound which is featured in the show. It turns out that Demi lives in my neighborhood, right around the corner. In fact, I had been jogging past her home for months with my puppy. The house is a former child star's childhood home, complete with a guard house and a fantastic pool and veranda in the back. I guess I should not have been surprised as that street is filled with celebrities, entertainment lawyers, and agents.

I have to say, I was a little more nervous for this interview versus others since Sony did send a publicist to monitor the taping. She asked for the questions ahead of time, but I didn't offer them up. Anyone that watches The Web Files knows that I am not interested in tabloid journalism, no matter what the subject. I want to understand the process of each individual show because each creator, actor, or crew member has a story to tell and it should be heard. That was our mission when we started the show and that mission will continue, no matter what the subject involves.

We had a fantastic time with Demi and her super cute puppy, Louie (be sure to check out his cameo at the end of the show.). Demi is personable, kind, and very open with her home life and her life in front of the cameras. I know the entire Web Files crew that day walked out of Demi's home feeling as though they really understood the person behind the show....and we liked her.

Fast forward a few weeks later, our show is still being edited for an August 10th launch at this point, but I see Demi make a comment on Twitter about an unfair interview with a Mommy Blogger. If you aren't familiar with Mommy Bloggers, they are considered a powerful group by advertisers to influence other mommies with their product reviews and endorsements along with writing about their daily lives. There is a lot of debate going on right now with the ethics of Mommy Bloggers and you find many interesting articles on the subject on the internet if the topic interests you. Anyway, Lindsay Ferrier of Suburban Turmoil, posted an article about her interview with Demi and a call to advertisers to pull their ads from the show on Crackle.com. We are talking about big companies like Kraft and Nabisco. Well, I piped in with my comments about how we cannot really judge someone unless we walk in their shoes and try to understand their lives and where they are coming from. I truly feel that it is important to get to know the person behind the public face. Well, it turned out to be quite an interesting debate. I don't want to rehash it all here as I know Lindsay feels a little beaten up about the issue, but I think it is important that all sides should be heard. My opinion was not changed by the discussion, I prefer to live a more open-minded existence, but I always appreciate rational debates. So please hear the other side, you can find Lindsay's posts here, here, and the follow-up here on the subject.

In parting, Kraft did pull its ads from the show

The Top 10 Most Watched Web TV Shows

Posted by Jennifer Van Grove in Social Networking

With the popularity and reach of web TV content only growing, we were extremely curious about the shows that are making the biggest impact with online audiences. As such, we tapped our viral video measuring friends at Visible Measures to see if they could help us determine the king of web TV on an ongoing basis.

Every month, with Visible Measures as our partner, we’re going to round up the top web TV series that are making their mark with online audiences. Video data is based on total online views for a series in its entirety (ie. not just a single episode) over the course of a month, and we’re limiting our analysis to fictional, reality, or character-driven online shows that produce episodic content, which means vloggers and news-oriented online series aren’t included in the monthly top 10 chart.

The August data is in, and without further ado we’d like to present you with the top 10 web series that have amassed the most views for the month. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show.

Demi Delia stars in Mommy XXX on Crackle.com

July 12, 2009 by Jesse Capps, Editor

Former Playboy model and single mom Demi Delia is starring in Crackle.com’s latest show, Mommy XXX. The new web series is a reality docudrama that’s a unique blend of “The Girls Next Door” and “The Osbournes.” New episodes air every Thursday at http://www.crackle.com

On this week’s episode, we get the inside scoop on what it’s like to party with porn stars. You’ve been cordially invited to Demi’s birthday celebration!

Mommy XXX exposes Demi Delia’s personal life: a joyous and free-wheeling birthday party attended by friends from the porn industry; her daughter’s first visit to the gynecologist; a typical day at “the office;” her breast augmentation surgery. The show will also reveal her children’s views along the way, as they express their honest feelings about their mom and her lifestyle.

“Mommy XXX”: Taking “MILF” to its logical conclusion

by Jeff Giles 07/09/2009

She’s gone from the pages of Playboy to a successful adult film career that (ahem) climaxed in her marriage to fellow porn star Randy Spears. Now that she’s a single parent with two kids to raise, what’s left for Demi Delia to do? You guessed it — she’s gone and become the focus of “Mommy XXX,” a Crackle.com reality show which proves that just because you’ve appeared on “Baywatch” and “Playboy’s Girls of Summer,” that doesn’t mean you don’t have to contend with ordinary, average life problems. Like, say, the one confronted in this outtake clip:

Mommy XXX

Source: Far From Simple blog - http://kjl912.blogspot.com

So i have been watching this Video blog show called Mommy XXX, before you jump to conclusions let me just say IT IS NOT PORN! I am completely and totally into this show. I hate when i dont have time on thursdays to watch it! Thank god i can just go online and watch it whenever is convenient for me.

The porn stars name is Demi Delia and the Vlog is about her and her family, not actual porn. This Vlog kind of gives you insite on the personal side/real life of a porn star. Believe it or not but most porn stars are normal people with children and husbands/ex-husbands. Crazy huh!

Demi has 2 children, a daughter Brandi and a son name Chris. I think it is hysterical how Chris says he hates porn stars but you can tell how much he loves his mom. And Brandi is the supportive, straight A student daughter who is equally as beautiful as her mom but i doubt will be doing any adult work in the future.

Demi seems to have this all figured out and this life style works well for her and her family.

I love this show and hopefully it will become even more popular. I would love to see this Vlog turn into a full length late night tv show.

Mommy XXX’ Shows Pornstars are Kinda but Not Really at All Just Like Us!

Written by: Alex Crowley - Tilzy.tv

“But what about the children? Won’t anybody think of the children?” I certainly had not. When was the last time you watched a porno and wondered, “What do you think their kids are up to right now?” Sure, you only watch teen gonzo flicks, so it’s not really a pertinent issue, but now that I’ve brought it up, what about some of the older stars?

“Like the Osbournes but with dildos and lube,” new reality web series Mommy XXX actually explores an interesting topic that regular television stations won’t (or can’t) touch: that porn stars are just like us! Predominantly like regular folk with bills and spouses and, yes, even children to raise. It just so happens that they have sex for a living. And, okay, some of them are kinda “quirky” people.

For some, I’m sure the concept of thinking about porn stars like regular people borders on revolting. They’ll ask things like, “How can you stop objectifying them like that?” Or, “Your humanizing of these starlets is ruining my wonderful pornography?” But that’s just petty whining.

Demi Delia FamilyWhen I’m watching a series of young, attractive American go-getters or beautiful Eastern European entrepreneurs complete amazing feats of strength and endurance, what will follow on the heels of this career choice is often among my thoughts. How long will she be in the business? Will she star in a Sodebergh film? At some point in the distant future, I suppose these girls will be engaging in intercourse with the purpose to actually procreate, but it’s not a connection I generally make. Mommy XXX creators Steve Slome and John Ferrie are better able to see beyond the sheen of the industry’s soft-lighting and realize that pornstars are people, too.

The preview certainly makes the show look entertaining and - gasp! - possibly even interesting for a reality series, and the first episode delivers. The artificially enhanced Demi Delia is the star here, though they might be throwing the term “star” around rather loosely. I think a few better-known performers, like Tory Lane show up, but I’m no connoisseur (honest) so I can’t be entirely sure.

The first episode of thirteen centers on Demi’s decision to have an eleventh round of plastic surgery. Her two teenage children - Chris and Brandi, who, perhaps unsurprisingly, are the most well-adjusted people in the show - find their mother’s latest choice to be in poor taste, but support her anyway. Sweet.

While I’m not ever a fan of reality tv, Mommy XXX has the luxury of being a web series uninhibited by the obscure codes of taste and decency that limit mainstream television to banality. The premise here seems goofy at first, but it’s also a fascinating sociology project and, like good reality-documentary should be, a boundary-testing work of anthropology. Check it out at Crackle.com.

Mommy XXX

Written by Sara Foss - Daily Gazette

I kind of sort of hate reality TV (Jon and Kate — who cares?) but I’ve taken an interest in “Mommy XXX,” an online reality show about the day-to-day life of porn star Demi Delia (no, I’d never heard of her until last week) because it’s co-directed by a friend of mine.

The show premiered last week on Sony’s Crackle.com and sites such as Hulu and YouTube, but Sony Networks is pitching it to TV stations and cable, so it could one day make its debut on the small screen. Considering its subject matter, the show is actually tastefully done, with thoughtful sit-down interviews with Demi, her friends from the adult film world and her two teenage children, who seem fairly level-headed, considering their unusual upbringing. The show itself isn’t pornographic, but it deals with the porn business and lifestyle candidly. (The first episode concerns Demi’s trip to the surgeon for breast implants — her 11th such procedure, according to the show.)

The mainstreaming of pornography is a very real trend, and “Mommy XXX” seeks to capitalize on that. But the show is unusual in that it confronts it subject matter head on, rather than in a snickering, immature sort of way. A recent online advertisement for Bud Light, in which a guy tries to buy a six pack and pornographic magazine, sparked commentary about whether pornography is no longer seen as transgressive and has truly entered the mainstream. (Time Magazine wrote about this advertisement here.)

“Mommy XXX” is less like a beer ad (or Judd Apatow movie) and more like a documentary. Even so, I’m interested to see whether future episodes portray or discuss the darker elements of the adult film business, such as a recent HIV outbreak, or maintain the show’s somewhat cutesy porn-star-in-suburbia focus.

Get a Different Kind of Intimate With Mommy XXX

By Liz Shannon Miller - SALON.COM

The porn community is an odd one, made up as it is of people with relaxed sexual morals but oftentimes the same cravings for security and family that those in less X-rated professions might share. And that’s the unexpected surprise of Mommy XXX, a new reality series from Crackle that chronicles the life of Demi Delia, an actively working porn star with two teenage children and a ginormous rack.

The format is pretty straight-up reality documentary, paced well for the web medium with relatively few signs of staged scenarios, and those interviewed are remarkably candid about their lives and opinions. There’s a sense that the producers are hoping to invoke the same outrageous behavior of The Osbournes from this clan, but that’s hardly the case with Brandi and Chris, who love their mom but express their teenage rebellion by eating vegan and actively rejecting her porn star lifestyle. In a episode provided for review, the kids bail out early from their mom’s birthday party, Chris stating flatly, “I hate porn stars — they’re gross.” Given what he’s probably seen during his lifetime, you can hardly blame him for saying so.

Delia’s family consists of more than her children, as she seems constantly surrounded by friends from the industry, who make even a trip to the plastic surgeon into a party. There’s a lot of potential for interesting stories from this set-up, most especially the relationship between Demi and her ex-husband Randy Sparks, a “legendary” porn star with whom she is still friendly. But the awkward tension between the two former spouses is clear, especially when, in an episode provided for review, the two work together in a sex scene. But as they’re both old pros, the scene goes well — except, of course, for some back and neck trouble. So far, there’s not much information about Demi’s background, how she got her start in porn, or even the identity and whereabouts of Brandi and Chris’s father (no, not Randy), material which will hopefully be fodder for the upcoming 12 episodes.

The title is catchy but too obvious, and many of the little touches that go into an episode (using clown horns to bleep out profanity, superimposing smiley faces and hearts over the many instances of nudity) are cutesy enough to detract from the intimate nature of the character portrait here. Because sure, Mommy XXX dances often on the TMI line, especially in the first episode, which provides a blunt look at the highly unnatural process by which Demi and her fellow porn stars attain their unnatural curves. But the real intimacy is the show’s candid approach to the conflicts driving Demi’s life. In interview segments, the chyron text labels Demi as two things: porn star and mother of two. The unasked question is — for how long exactly can she be both?

‘Mommy XXX’ Debuts With A Deeper Look At Porn Star Life

by Jonathan Hludzinski - TUBEFILTER NEWS

Although Mommy XXX is a bit of a misnomer, this behind the scenes look into the upper-middle class home of porn star Demi Dalia, created by Steve Slome and John Ferrie, is at times fascinating, titillating and disturbing. As good as any of the current lifestyles of quasi-celebs reality fare on TV today, this actually quietly provides a deeper and perhaps darker look into a life you’ll probably never have.

The music and graphics and fluid camerawork will have you pleasantly smiling throughout, perhaps even thinking, ‘well, gee, that’s not so bad’. But the few moments with Demi’s son, Chris, might sway your opinion. We don’t get much of him but when we do he’s not so keen on his mother’s breast implant surgery in episode one, or her birthday party which includes her porn star friends in ep three and in ep two, though he doesn’t talk specifically about the scene she’s shooting with ex-husband and legend Randy Spears, he does mention that he hates porn stars.

It bums me out a little bit because the poor kid can’t escape it, but the amazing thing is: he loves her. He says so in empathy of her surgery and what she has to go through. And then with sister Brandy he paints her a welcome home sign, which is kind of sweet. So Demi must be doing something right. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see much of it.

Crackle's Mommy XXXThe show, which brands itself as the suburban lifestyle of a porn star mom, spends the majority of the time in its first three episodes giving us very small glimpses into her family life while spending more time on her professional lifestyle. On one hand I have a strong desire to see more of the family life, but then again the show might not be so pleasant if more of her son’s vitriol were unleashed in a less controlled environment (his comments are made interview style). We do get to meet ex-husband Spears and there is a lot of time spent hanging around the house, so it’s not all business, but I have yet to see any family dinners or mom and child heart-to-hearts – I’m assuming (hoping) they happen.

As for Demi’s professional and social life, episode two, which has her shooting a scene for her upcoming website with Spears is the deepest and most interesting of the bunch. To see these two, albeit briefly, talk to the camera about having sex for the first time since their divorce in front of forty-five people (on set) is just plain interesting. That coupled with the fact that Spears arrives complaining of back pain and Demi later hurts her neck, turns these porn stars into actual people with problems that you or I might have. Add to the mix that it looks like they are actually shooting the scene in Demi’s home and I’m hooked, if a little disturbed as well.

Production is great, it could easily be on television. Story editing and whatnot is all working well and the people in and around Demi’s life are interesting and nicely portrayed in a non-exploitative way which helps make them feel more real and make me empathize that much more. The prevailing feeling being, these are relatively normal people in a very strange profession. Now, of course, one can only guess what’s been left on the cutting room floor, but they do a good job of making it so I’m not left asking.

First episode airs today on www.crackle.com, with new episodes out weekly through September 10th. I recommend the show if only to rubberneck because I think you might find something a bit deeper than what you’re used to with this type of thing. And if you like traditional porn, this is a behind the scenes like you probably haven’t seen before - a kind of tamer, more real peek behind the veil.

Mommy XXX: Porn People are Family Folk

By Crackle Jack - CRACKLE BLOG

Any regular reader of this blog (I’m talking to you mom), will have noticed a reoccurring theme lately – porn. No, we’re not going lowest common denominator; there’s a good reason for all these dick and boob references. Today at Crackle we’re starting a new series that explores the place where motherhood and the “reverse cowgirl” meet: Mommy XXX.

Demi Delia is your modern working mother who happens to have starred in some small independent cult films like Mommy F**ks Best 2, Big Titty MILFS 3, and The Witches of Breastwick 2. Now before you get to throwing stones from a high horse, realize that Sylvester Stallone (Cliffhanger) and Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) also did a turn working in adult films and both of them raised families as well.

The series begins with a look at Ms. Delia’s 11th breast enlargement in an episode appropriately titled: “Boob Job #11?. Without giving too much away she gets 800cc implants put in, and for those of you not in the know that’s the equivalent of just over two soda cans placed in each mammary, or 1.8 pounds a piece. Let’s just say, this woman is serious about her work.

So if you want an inside look at how a modern business woman juggles a career, the new “twins” and her family, this is the perfect show for you.

Tell your friends and family… I know my mom will be watching.

Reality Show ‘Mommy XXX’ to Air on Crackle.com

By Ariana Rodriguez

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Season one of the reality show “Mommy XXX,” which showcases the life of adult star Demi Delia and her family, kicks off June 18.

The series consists of 13 webisodes that are five minutes in duration and will air on Crackle.com, a Sony Pictures Entertainment Television company offering a multi-platform video entertainment network.

“Mommy XXX” focuses on the relationships, lifestyles, and trials that the family endures as its matriarch, Delia, works in the adult industry as a MILF performer.

Delia told XBIZ she was approached by the show’s creator Steve Slome and interviewed by Teru Media and Sony Pictures last May, as they sought an adult star that also is a fulltime mother.

“When they met me and visited my home they got a little more than I think they expected,” Delia said. “I was not only a porn star and mother of two teenage kids but I was also a boarding home mother to the new porn stars. I had a full house and the kick was that my kids do not like that I had porn stars living in the house.”

The adult stars mentioned are Alanah Rae and Carly. Another familiar face in the cast is Randy Spears, adult star/director and Delia’s ex-husband.

“This is a reality show, so everyone in the show is really in my life,” Delia said. “Randy Spears and I have been separated for over a year, but we are very good friends.”

Her children include a son, 18-year-old Chris, who is a musician, and her 14-year-old daughter Brandi, who is a straight-A student.

In the show’s preview trailer, Chris shares his disapproval of adult stars.

“They have no morals, they’re just nasty,” Chris said. “Even though I don’t agree with it, she’s my mom and I gotta help her out.”

Other residents in Delia’s Tarzana, Calif., home to be featured on “Mommy XXX” include Steve Knight, who began his relationship with the family as a friend of Chris and evolved into a working adult star and Patrick Higginson, another friend and guitarist of Chris’ band, who works as a driver for adult talent agency LA Direct Models.

Delia’s friends, assistants and pets round out the cast.

Without giving away too much detail about the show, Delia said she thinks viewers will be surprised to see that her family is just like anyone else’s.

Delia began her career in adult in 1992 as a Playboy model, appearing in “Playboy Girls of the Summer” and “Playboy Lingerie.” She also did mainstream work with an appearance on “Baywatch” in 1992 and swimsuit modeling for Car and Boat Magazine.

After taking a break from modeling, she returned in 2004 as Demi Delia and has appeared in several adult titles including Tom Byron’s “Seasoned Players 3,” Digital Sin’s “Mom’s Cream Pie 2” and Loaded Digital’s “MILFs vs. Teens.”

DEMI DELIA STARS IN MOMMY XXX FOR CRACKLE.COM

SHE’S A MOM… SHE’S AN ADULT FILM STAR...

SHE’S A MOM AND AN ADULT FILM STAR

Los Angeles, CA (May 27, 2009) – Demi Delia has a dilemma. As a former Playboy model turned adult film star, she has a certain image to uphold and certain duties to perform. But as a stern taskmaster, rocker mom and head of the household, she’s also concerned with an entirely different set of problems. Not only does she have to worry about when her next photo shoot starts, she also has to make sure her two teenage kids, Brandi and Chris, are staying out of trouble – or at least, not getting into too much trouble.

"MOMMY XXX" is a new, hilarious, reality docudrama that will premiere on Thursday, June 18 on Crackle.com. Thirteen episodes will air weekly as part of the online video network’s summer season.

Documenting the day-to-day life of an energetic and perpetually in motion mom who also happens to be a real-life porn star, this uniquely funny and off-the-cuff reality show reveals the quirks and intimate life of Demi Delia and her unpredictable family. An adult film actress with over 50 adult films under her belt, Demi allows viewers to have a window into her life as she struggles to juggle the challenges of traditional motherhood with the ultimate non-traditional career.

To complicate matters, our star is divorced and the ex-husband just happens to be male adult-film legend Randy Spears, star of over 2,000 adult films. Demi’s two teenage children, Brandi and Chris, form the rest of this non-conventional family unit. We watch Demi as she tries to keep up with her daughter Brandi, a 14-year old straight "A" student, while trying to motivate her rebellious son Chris, an aspiring GrindCore/Crust punk rocker and animal rights activist - all while searching for the perfect recipe for vegan cacciatore to feed her kids who are both vegans. Demi’s dinner conversations are guaranteed to be like nothing you've ever heard before. The show takes viewers on an up-close visit to Demi's home - known as "the Castle or Compound" - a compound in The Valley where porn wannabes, naive newcomers to the adult film world, and even the occasional ninth grader can all spend the night.

As charming as she is witty, Demi handles her dual identities with the strength of Superman and the beauty of Wonder Woman. Regarding the series, Demi notes, “This truly is an experience that my family, friends and I will remember for a lifetime. We have had the chance to document a time in our lives and it's been a lot of fun throughout process. We filmed a ton of great stuff that is very funny and dealt with serious issues that came up in our lives. I really believe the show will be a hit. I think the viewers will be surprised because this is not a show based on the Adult Industry; it is about my life and my household and the people in it. You'll just have to watch and see.”

MOMMY XXX is produced by Teru Media and distributed by Sony Pictures Television.

More on Teru Media: Teru Media is an end-to-end production services provider based in Los Angeles . Producers of the Internet series, "Mommy XXX," Teru Media is focused on high-quality, low-cost digital entertainment for the masses. Teru Media is managed by Steve Slome, a producer formerly affiliated with Unified Pictures and Phaedra Cinema; John Ferrie, an independent filmmaker, former legal counsel to Sony Pictures and current legal counsel to YouTube; Choky Lim, an experienced producer and Emmy winning star from the show "Wild Chicago"; Justin Born, an independent producer; and Viet Huynh, a producer and screenwriter.

Porn Star Moms And Softball, ‘Mommy XXX’ and ‘All Stars’ Coming To Crackle

by Marc Hustvedt on May 27th, 2009

Mommy XXX on Crackle.com

Oh Crackle. It’s really no secret that you’re after that coveted young male demo, and the latest two additions to the summer web series roster should score some points in that game: Mommy XXX and All Stars.

Mommy XXX, a new reality series goes after one of the only unclaimed plots on the reality landscape, porn stars mommies. The show centers around a typical real-life family who’s matriarch, Demi Delia, happens to be a Playboy model turned adult film star. The single mom raises her 14 year-old daughter — a straight-A student — and her aspiring punk rocker son.

Where it gets interesting, and perhaps controversial once the mommybloggers catch wind of it, is their boarding-house domestic situation:

Dinner conversations are guaranteed to be like nothing you’ve ever heard before at Demi’s home - known as “the Ranch” - a large compound in The Valley where porn wannabes, naive newcomers to the adult film world, and even the occasional eighth grader can all spend the night.

An interviewer in the preview trailer (above) noted, “you’re like the Osbournes but with dildos and lube.”

Are We Ready for MILF Porn?
By Lauren Iannotti

As Mother's Day approaches, when most of us spring for eggs Benedict and a tulip bouquet, another segment of the population will be honoring moms in its own uniquely Freudian way: by watching MILF porn, the adult industry's hot new genre.

"I'm 41, and I have these 25-year-old fans writing me letters," says actress Demi Delia (MILFs Night Out, Lowfat MILF). "They must have mommy issues." A lot of people do, apparently. According to Sugar DVD, a Netflix-style service for porn, MILF—a now-common acronym for "mom I'd like to fuck"—is its second-most popular genre (after interracial), up from 14th place last year. The company's most popular title, It's a Mommy Thing 4, recently overtook five-week champion It's a Mommy Thing 3. Meanwhile, on the Web, YouPorn.com (a YouTube knockoff with millions of visitors each day) reports that MILF, mature, and wife are three of its top 10 search terms. "The plot's always the same," says Delia. "My sons' friends come over and I sleep with them." How old one has to be to qualify as a MILF is up for debate (and fans do, hotly, online), but the industry standard seems to put the minimum age at 30.

To director Axel Braun (Cookies & MILF 2 and Hustler's best-selling MILF Trainer series), the MILF moment reflects mainstream Hollywood, where many actresses of a certain age are playing seductresses—on camera and off. "Start with Demi Moore. She's hotter than she looked at 25. Sex and the City—the girls are not young, but they make 40 look hot and glamorous," Braun observes, adding that "teenagers dressed as sluts" hit oversaturation right around the time of the Paris Hilton sex tape. "There's just not much fantasy there. Instead, we're playing into the idea that a more mature woman knows what to do in bed." Having just wrapped This Ain't Happy Days XXX, Braun adds, "Mrs. C., played by Raquel Devine, is the ultimate MILF. And in our film, she finally gets nailed by The Fonz."

Ask A Cougar: Should You Consider a Job in Porn?
Written by SeasonedSexpert on May 13, 2009 - 4:19pm

Just when I was wondering, ‘What’s next in porn?’ Along comes an article in the May 2009 issue of Marie Claire about the rise of MILF porn.

For those who fell into a rabbit hole a few years ago, the term, MILF, stands for “mom I’d like to ...” According to Sugar DVD, a Netflix-style service for porn, MILF porn is the second most popular genre (after interracial), up from 14th place last year. The company’s most popular title, It’s a Mommy Thing 4, recently overtook five-week champion, It’s a Mommy Thing 3. On YouPorn.com (a YouTube knockoff will millions of daily visitors), the top 10 search terms include MILF, mature, and wife.

The big debate online isn’t, ‘How will this affect the expression, "As American as mom and apple pie?"’ Nope, it’s how old does one have to be to qualify as a MILF? This is fiercely debated by fans. Industry standard puts the minimum age at 30. But then there’s actress Demi Delia (MILFs Night Out, Lowfat MILF) who is 41 and regularly gets fan mail from 25-year-olds. Smarter minds will have to wrestle with this one.

In the meantime, maybe it’s not such a bad thing being sexually objectified in your forties (words I never ever thought I’d write). MILF porn director, Alex Braun, says MILF popularity reflects mainstream Hollywood, where older actresses are playing seductresses both on and off camera. There’s Demi Moore, of course, who looks hotter than she did at 25, he says. There’s also the saturation factor with “teenagers dressed as sluts,” which peaked around the time of the Paris Hilton sex tape.

“There’s just not much fantasy there,” explains Braun. “Instead we’re playing into the idea that a more mature woman knows what to do in bed.”

All I can say is, 'Steer clear, Desperate Housewives!' The MILFs are here and the Cougars are bringing up the rear guard. Just recently, The Cougar premiered. It follows the format of The Bachelor only this time a forty year old is looking for true love in a group of goofy guys in their early twenties. Soon, Courtney Cox's new show, Cougar Town, will launch. Makes me feel good to think that us old broads still have some use.

'Marie Claire' Examines MILF Porn Phenomenon

By Peter Warren

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — The May 2009 issue of Marie Claire magazine includes a Love/Sex column discussing the current boom of the MILF genre among porn consumers.

Written by Lauren Iannotti, the column quotes prominent MILF performer Demi Delia (Tom Byron Pictures' Seasoned Players 3, Zero Tolerance Entertainment's You've Got a Mother Thing Cumming) and director Axel Braun (Hustler Video's MILF Trainer series) on the subject. In addition, it relays sales stats from online retailer SugarDVD, which it says identifies the genre as second only to interracial in popularity (naming Elegant Angel Productions' It's a Mommy Thing! 4 as its current top seller).

According to Braun, the column has generated a surprising reaction from Marie Claire readers.

"My inbox has been inundated by e-mails from aspiring MILFs," he told AVN. "Seriously, for the past week I've been getting tons of e-mails from 35- to 45-year-old civilians asking about getting into porn."

While this MILF onslaught may or may not come as a bother to Braun, he's definitely pleased about one thing: "At least Marie Claire kindly plugged my series Cookies & MILF, MILF Trainer and of course This Ain't Happy Days XXX ... the folks at LFP will be happy."

The Marie Claire issue is on stands now.

PornStarTweet Following More Than 100 Porn Stars on Twitter

LAS VEGAS -- Twitter-tracking PornStarTweet.com has now topped 100 porn stars since its launch less than two weeks ago.

The hundredth porn star to be added was AVN Live host and Co-ed Confidential star Michelle Maylene. Lexi Love took PornStarTweet.com over the 100 mark.

The site officially launched on February 23, following the daily lives of 44 porn stars and has monitored some 13,343 individual tweets so far.

Other additions to the tweet-tracking list include Flower Tucci, Taryn Thomas, Demi Delia, Lisa Ann, Courtney Cummz and male star Brandon Iron.

"This simply demonstrates the power of Twitter and the excitement it generates!" said PornStarTweet CEO Pete Housley. "When we started this project we located and started tracking 17 porn stars. In the past 10 days we've not just located more stars, but many more are joining Twitter and becoming addicted right along with the rest of the country. We're watching Rachel Starr, Lexi Love, Ashlynn Brooke and many others take their first baby steps into the Twitter world, and it's a ton of fun. We've also expanded our listing to include male, gay and transgender performers; in fact, we added the amazing Wendy Williams just today. We would love to see this number double, triple or beyond in the next few weeks -- we urge all members of the adult industry to join the 'Twitterati.'"

"We feel confident that we have the most comprehensive list of porn stars using Twitter anywhere on the Web. The stars seem to love this site and the exposure it's giving them," said webmistress Alyss Heart. "We get tons of personal messages from Brooke Haven who's sporting a cool new tattoo, first seen only on Twitter and PornStarTweet.com, and a lot of the other stars who say they're getting great feedback and traffic from us. However, we're most excited by the user response helping us locate these stars among the thousands of people joining Twitter and tweeting every day -- a big thank you to BackOutVideo ."

PornStarTweet has added photo-attachment thumbnails, as well as a "Photos Only" option, allowing users to view the hundreds of photos posted daily by Porn Stars on Twitter.

"We're adding new functionality and increasing capacity to handle the traffic. The response from the adult business community has been great. We are proud to now have a developing relationship with AdultDVDEmpire as a sponsor, great blog write-ups on Fleshbot and many other sites," Housley said. "We're all watching Jon Stewart on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, CNN -- even Fox News and every major media outlet talk about congressional use of Twitter -- so it's awesome to see a great piece of technology allow us to communicate with porn stars and Congress at the same time. We don't know how big this thing can get."

The service is available at PornStarTweet.com and can be followed on Twitter's PornStarTweet page. An RSS feed is also available for syndication.
